８月２日 （月）２００４
大変良い天気だ。気温３３度。青い空に雲がポッカリ、ポッカリ浮いている。素晴らしい夏空だ！ しかし九州地方では大雨である。思い出す。昨日の昼、私は九州ラーメンを食べた・・私はまだ九州には行ったことがない・・。 昼、日比谷で３０歳ぐらいの男を乗せた。彼は今朝、彼に起きた出来事を私に話す。彼、「家を出て駅に歩いていたら蝉が私のシャツにオシッコ落としやがった。そして鳴きながら飛んでいった！ くそ！ すごい臭いだから家に戻って着替えたよ。蝉はダイッキライだ〜！ 運転手さんどう思います？」 私、「私も嫌いですよ、全くうるさいですからね」。彼は「おかげで会社に遅刻だよ、今度、蝉を見つけたら足で踏み潰してやる！」。私、「そうですね、私も見つけたら踏み潰しますよ」。彼は「ありがとう！運転手さん」。私、「いや〜、気にしないでください」。私達はお互いに蝉への復讐を誓った。かわいそうな男は芝公園で降りた。そのとき蝉のおしっこの匂いがした気がした。夕方、今日もまたラーメンを食べる。 売り上げ３７，０００円。 憂鬱な月曜日。

The weather was very fine and the temperature was 33 degrees ℃. The sky was blue and some clouds floated in it. But it was raining heavily in Kyusyu area. I remembered that I had eaten Kyusyu noodles at lunch yesterday. I have not been to Kyusyu yet. At noon, I picked up a man who was about 30 years old in Hibiya. He talked me what had happened to him this morning. He said, “I left my home and was walking towards the sta. then a cicada peed on my shirt and flew away while crying. My shirt smelled very bad. I returned home and changed my shirt. I hate cicadas. What do you think?” I said, “Yes, me too. They are noisy.” He said, “I was late for work. I will smash cicadas with my foot, when I find them next time.” I said, “OK. If I find them, I will try to smash them too.” He said, “Thanks.” I said, “Don’t mention it.” We vowed revenge on the cicadas. The poor man got off in Shiba Park. Then there was a faint smell of cicada pee lingering in my car. In the evening, I ate noodles again. I made 37,000 yen. A blue Monday!
